András Ladocsi: Immortalising infinity

András’ main source of inspiration is his swimming background.
He was a professional swimmer for 14 years before becoming a photographer. His photography seems to suspend bodies, colours and time as if he were swimming, floating.

Drawing on his memories collected under the chlorinated water, András reinterprets his recollections with his models, creating scenes of enveloping intimacy. Past and present collide with the click of the shutter. These candid shots create intimate and poignant pictures which explore movement.

“As I thought about this period, specific gestures, voices and faces came to mind.
First I started photographing friends and then strangers in emotional situations.”

Until the next Hyères Festival from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 October 2021, discover András Ladocsi’s virtual exhibition, “Green”, produced exclusively for American Vintage.
